Jessica Gihm, LMHC

Ms. Gihm obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary in 2010 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham WA. She has been a practicing clinician since 2008. Ms. Gihm completed her internships in community health agencies and a homeless shelter in Vancouver, WA. Her post-licensure experience includes working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, outpatient community mental health agencies, and private practice. Ms.Gihm is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Washington, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and a previous Oregon Counseling Association board member.

Ms. Gihm provides compassionate and skillful counseling utilizing the TEAM approach created by Dr. David Burns; a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy technique. She views the therapeutic relationship a collaborative one; where the client and clinician work together to develop an individualized treatment plan. Her therapeutic style incorporates a CBT approach and Solution Focused therapy. She enjoys helping people work through depression, trauma, identity formation, multicultural issues, anger management, assertiveness, and anxiety. Her specialized training includes, Prepare and Enrich, mindfulness with Dr. Marsha Linehan, Gottman level 1, psychopharmacology, nutrition and the brain, and most recently, CBT for Trauma with Dr. David Burns.

In her free time Jessica enjoys meeting with friends and family, running, hot yoga, lifting weights, and hiking.
